“My visit is indeed timely, as we have received the good news that Le Cordon Bleu will be opening its school in the Philippines this September at the Ateneo de Manila University. I know there are already a number of Philippine alumni from Le Cordon Bleu Paris, which will soon include the currently-enrolled lone Filipina student. With the new school opening in Manila, we can definitely anticipate the number of Philippine students and future alumni to increase tenfold. I am pleased to meet today Mr. Charles Cointreau – the son of Le Cordon Bleu’s president and CEO Mr. André Cointreau – who will be in charge of opening Le Cordon Bleu Philippines,” the Ambassador said.
She added that, “as a prelude to this, the Embassy has arranged for Philippine cuisine to be taught for the first time at Le Cordon Bleu Paris. Five days from now, Filipina Chef Myrna Segismundo and her culinary team will be flying in from Manila to do a Philippine cooking demonstration for the students and chef-instructors. I am sure that the hardworking Filipino employees of Le Cordon Bleu will be pleased to join me in welcoming the team and will be as proud as I am to share with the school some of the finest Philippines dishes that will be on showcase then.”

Philippine Embassy Joins the Filipino Community in Celebrating 10 years of Philippine Musical Performances at Paris' Fête de la Musique
21 June 2018 – Paris, France. H.E. Philippine Ambassador to France Ma. Theresa Lazaro, accompanied by the Embassy officers and staff, poses with the officers of PinoyJam Paris for its 10th anniversary performance at the 2018 Fête de la Musique.
25 June 2018, Paris, France – As part of its Cultural Diplomacy efforts, the Philippine Embassy in Paris lent its full support to the Filipino community association “PinoyJam Paris” which had staged its 10th anniversary concert as part of France’s cultural initiative “Fête de la Musique” held every June 21.
This concert, held for the fourth time at Place Igor Stravinsky in the 4th arrondissement (near Centre Pompidou), can be considered the largest in Paris that features the most number of Filipino artists performing Filipino music.
H.E. Philippine Ambassador to France Maria Theresa Lazaro was present – along with three of the Embassy’s consuls and staff members – to affirm the Philippine Embassy’s continued support for this ever-growing Philippine cultural promotion project which started in 2008 by PinoyJam under the leadership of its President, Mr. Dennis Astorga.
Ambassador Lazaro conveyed her congratulations to PinoyJam on its 10th anniversary and commended it on its efforts of “sharing our very own Filipino music in the very city where Fête de la Musique started”. She added that “Philippine participation in the Fête is our way of conveying to France that we celebrate with them our common love of music and the democratic principle of freedom of expression. It is a pleasure to be with our kababayans here today who have come to enjoy a little slice of home away from home. It is good to see also that the non-Filipino crowd that celebrates with us has been growing steadily through the years.”

The evening started with an acoustic set in the early evening and ended towards midnight with a crowd of around 300 dancing to a medley of Filipino contemporary music and upbeat non-Filipino covers that are quite popular to Filipinos and the other members of the audience. There were a total of 14 solo and group performances for the whole evening.
