21 August 2019 – The Audax Randonneurs Philippines led by its founder, Ms. Carmela Patricia S. Pearson, together with around 60 other cyclists from the Philippines are participating in the 2019 Paris-Brest-Paris (PBP) Ride being held on 18-22 August 2019 which started at Rambouillet, France.

The PBP is a long distance cycling event organized by the Audax Club Parisien. It is just one of only three remaining classic cycling events in the world and is held every four years. This race covers 1,200 kilometers from Paris to Brest and back to Paris wherein the participants have to finish within 80-90 hours ride. This year’s event is expected to be participated in by as much as 6,500 cyclists from all over the world.

The Philippine Embassy, led by Ms. Aileen S. Mendiola-Rau, Chargé d’ affaires, a.i. provided moral support and encouragement to our Filipino cyclists from the Philippines on 17 August 2019 during its meet and greet with the group. The Philippine contingent was happy and inspired to raise and carry the Philippine flag in this quest in France. END.
