26 September 2019, Paris – A delegation from the Department of National Defense, headed by Assistant Secretaries Teodoro Cirilo Torralba III and Jesus Rey Avilla, visited France on 23-25 September 2019 to engage in a series of meetings.

The 2nd Joint Defense Cooperation Committee (JDCC) meetings between DND and the Ministry of Defense were held on 23 September 2019. Divided into three (3) sub-committees, namely strategy, logistics, and military, the bilateral dialogues focused on the milestones and future areas of defense cooperation. Included in the delegation’s itinerary were meetings with some French defense industry players. The delegation were treated to presentations, exhibitions and trials of defense and security-related equipment and systems.

The visit of the Department of National Defense’s delegation is a re-affirmation of the Philippines and France’s shared commitment to strengthen bilateral defense relations, having acknowledged their common defense and security challenges and interests. END.
