PHL EMBASSY IN PARIS PARTICIPATES IN FRENCH TRAVEL FAIR
2 OCTOBER 2013

“C’est plus fun aux Philippines!” (It’s more fun in the Philippines), declared Ambassador to France Cristina Ortega in Top Resa, France’s biggest travel fair, held on 24-27 September 2013 in Paris.

Accompanied by tour operators and hotel and resort representatives, Tourism Attachés Marie Venus Tan and Arnold Gonzales led the Philippine assault on the French tourism market which has been one of the fastest-growing sources of tourists to the Philippines, registering a 19.95% increase for January to July 2013 compared to the previous year.

This number is set to increase even further following the lifting of the European Union ban on Philippine Airlines flights to Europe. With the resumption of the Manila-London flights on 4 November 2013, Manila-Paris flights should soon follow.

Thanks to continuous tourism promotion activities organized by the Philippine Embassy, several articles featuring the Philippines as a travel destination have appeared in French magazines and newspapers.END
